Intermediate III with Gustavo Emos

Tuesday, 1:00 – 2:30 PM ET: Feb. 24, Mar. 10, 17, 24, 31, Apr. 14, 21, 28, May 5, 12

Course Goals: This course continues the development of advanced beginner level skills with a focus on strengthening grammatical understanding, increasing vocabulary, and fostering greater fluency in speaking, reading, and listening.

Course Tools: We will continue working with Yiddish: An Introduction to the Language, Literature, and Culture by Sheva Zucker, beginning with Volume II (available for purchase here), as Volume I was completed in the previous term. Our work will combine structured grammar review with group practice of dialogs, reading of selected texts and songs, and discussion of cultural content. All lessons will be supported by supplementary materials provided by the instructor.

Additional Info: This course is intended for intermediate students who have completed six or more semesters of Yiddish and are ready to continue building their skills using more complex texts. Prior knowledge of the Yiddish alphabet and solid reading skills are required.
