In this course, students of Intermediate-Advanced level will practice reading and translating skills. We will read and translate Leyb Kvitko's literature for children in a verse about a small boy—Leml´s adventures. The texts about Leml were written by Leyb Kvitko between 1919 and 1947 and collected by Caroline Emig and Sabine Koller in 2023. You will learn the biography of Leyb Kvitko and read such texts as “Leml Snacker”, “Leml´s Gift”, “Leml Sees the Doctor” and others.
Additional Info: This course is taught entirely in Yiddish.
