Course Goals: We'll read and discuss some short stories by Y. L. Peretz, including "sholem bayis," "a farshterter shabes," "bontshe shvayg," "der nayer nign," "fir dores - fir tsavoes," "di frume kats," "halt s'moyl," "a gilgl fun a nign," "mekubolem," and "oyb nisht nokh hekher." The readings are in Yiddish; the class will be conducted in Yiddish and English. The texts are available from the Yiddish Book Center.
