Thursday, 12:00 – 1:30 PM: Feb. 26, Mar. 5, 12, 19, 26, Apr. 16, 23, 30, May 7, 14
A hands-on workshop series for singers and instrumentalists, continued! We had a great series last session, but it felt like we were just getting started, so let’s learn more. Historical Moldavia, including Bessarabia and Bucovina, is one of the great heartlands of Eastern European Jewish music and culture, with a deep tradition of musical interchange between Jewish and non-Jewish singers and instrumentalists. Join me, Cantor Jeff Warschauer, as we learn beautiful, vibrant and soulful Hasidic nigunim, klezmer melodies and Yiddish folk and theater songs. For singers of all levels, and intermediate/advanced instrumentalists. Find your inner mamaliga!
