At the YMCA of Niagara, we believe everyone has the potential to shine. Through programs that build confidence, connection, and belonging, we are committed to helping children, youth, and families across Niagara thrive—regardless of financial circumstances.
With a presence in more than 100 program sites across the region, the Y provides vital programs including Day Camps, Health & Aquatics, Community Youth outreach, Child Care, and newcomer support. In 2023 alone, 14,280 individuals were supported in their personal fitness and well-being journeys across our three Health, Fitness & Aquatics Centres in Grimsby, Welland, and Port Colborne. At 12 day camp locations across Niagara, 1,199 children explored, played, and grew with us over the summer. Our Community Youth Programs reached young people where they are, with 4,831 impactful interactions delivered across 16 sites.
Many of these programs are offered at low or no cost thanks to generous community support. Funds raised through partnerships and events help us remove barriers, provide financial assistance, and offer free programming where the need is greatest. Whether it’s training summer camp leaders, giving a child their first swimming lesson, or supporting a teen through mentorship, every dollar helps ignite potential.
Together with partners like the Kiwanis Club, we’re building stronger communities—one child, one family, one moment at a time.
Founded in 1959, the Stamford Kiwanis Club has dedicated itself to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community. As part of Kiwanis International—whose motto is “Improving the world, one child at a time”—our club focuses its efforts and resources on initiatives that benefit children and youth.
Our impact includes providing school supplies, supporting school breakfast programs, funding leadership development through high school programs, and assisting local organizations with program and staff training support.
We also proudly collaborate with a wide network of community partners to create a stronger, more caring community.
