Honoring His Legacy of Service
Initially, Jim struggled to make sense of his diagnosis and eventually believed his cancer journey had a purpose. At first, his prognosis was very good due to his excellent health as well as advances in targeted therapies. He was expected to survive for years and planned to use his gift of connecting with others to increase awareness about lung cancer. As a nonsmoker, he was especially interested in sharing his story to advance research and early detection. Unfortunately, he experienced several life-threatening challenges related to his treatment and lost his brief but courageous battle in April of 2022. We believe the most impactful way to honor his memory is to continue this journey by sharing his story to raise funds to support advocary, education, patient support and research through the Lung Cancer Intiative of NC.
