Women Swimmin' for Hospicare

It took a village.

Over 6,000 people like YOU played some part in making it happen! Whether you planned it (thank you, Betsy E., Linda, Betsy S., Julie, Chris, Jane, Paula, Jenn, Shane, Connie, Laurie, Kristin, Carol, Kat, and too many other people to mention here), or fundraised, sponsored, swam across the lake, donated, or cheered us on, you are part of this amazing community that cares about helping others.  

As of this morning, the swimmers and Go the Distancers have fundraised over $660,000 from nearly 5,000 colleagues, strangers, friends, and relatives.

We don’t know about you, but we are still smiling huge smiles and feeling deeply grateful to be part of this extraordinary event and big-hearted community!

Women Swimmin' for Hospicare

Women Swimmin' for Hospicare is a community swim for women ages 18 and over. Early in the morning on August 10, 2024, approximately 300 women will swim across Cayuga Lake, a distance of 1.2 miles. The swimmers will be supported by more than 125 boaters guiding them from the east shore to the Ithaca Yacht Club, where more than 100 volunteers, plus friends and family, will greet them with cheers and congratulations.

How it works

Registration for participants -- swimmers, paddlers, and Go the Distance fundraisers -- opens at 7:00 a.m. on May 8, 2024. (Please note registration for lake swimmers closes when we reach our maximum of 325 lake swimmers).

There is a registration fee for Lake Swimmers, however this fee is applied to your fundraising total.

You can easily create a participant page where you can tell your story and share why you're participating. Share your page with your friends, family, colleagues, and loved ones to ask for their support to help you reach your goal.
