Though we are apart, STUDIOS Architecture in San Francisco, together with Very Good & Proper in London have teamed up to form Very Good & STUDIOS.
Our team has developed a design and built a piece of furniture that celebrates the theme for Chairity: ApART but TWOgether.
A beautifully crafted coffee table composed of sculptural moulded plywood, fastened together to support a colorful pressed linoleum top. This table top on its own makes a bold statement with a recessed harlequin pattern, but comes to life when accompanied by parts that lock together and transform the table into a backgammon board. A shelf below holds the game pieces when not in play, and acts as additional storage. Practical, beautiful, and fun, this ART piece brings people together to share in this most human tradition, the art of the game.
It has been a great experience to work in collaboration on this piece for auction and so rewarding to get to support these amazing charities through this joint effort.
