The 100 Cleft Portraits project began in London as a groundbreaking artistic movement designed to celebrate and educate the public on the beauty of cleft and craniofacial differences. Created by artist Katie Manning, the collection challenges perceptions and invites viewers to see each child as they were born — confident, unique and beautifully themselves.
The experience begins Thursday evening with an exclusive cocktail event, where guests can enjoy an intimate first look at all 100 portraits by Katie Manning while connecting with supporters, advocates, and community leaders. The evening includes dinner, cocktails, live music and a silent auction.
On Friday, we welcome families, friends and community members for a day-long celebration featuring interactive art activities, opportunities to meet the artist, raffle prizes, and meaningful ways to support local families affected by cleft. Together, these events honor the strength, resilience, and joy of the cleft and craniofacial community while helping create brighter futures for families in our region.
Guests may purchase tickets for a two-hour viewing window to experience this wonderful event throughout the day on Friday, August 7th.
The 100 Cleft Portraits Tour has already made a profound impact across the country — sparking conversations, strengthening community, and celebrating patients. Nationally, the campaign has raised awareness for the lifelong journey of cleft and craniofacial care, highlighting the importance of early intervention, multidisciplinary treatment, and emotional support for children and their families.
We are proud to bring this message to the Carolinas. By participating in this event, you help strengthen a mission that ensures every child has access to the resources, community, and confidence they deserve. Your support fuels advances in care, community programs, awareness initiatives, and the continued growth of a network that celebrates an incredible group of children.
We’re looking for cheerful, reliable volunteers 16 years and older to help bring this event to life — from supporting our interactive art activities and welcoming guests at the check‑in table to assisting with set‑up, tear‑down, and all the meaningful moments in between.

Hi, I’m Katie – an artist, trauma-informed coach, and mother to a daughter born with bilateral cleft, married to a man born with unilateral cleft. Cleft is not just something I work with; it’s woven into my family.
What began with one cleft diagnosis in Singapore has become a global movement rooted in face reverence and trauma-informed cleft care. In 2026, 100 Cleft Portraits journeys across America.
This project honors people born with cleft as they are: powerful, complex, beautiful humans. Each portrait tells a real story and carries a simple truth.
