For the 6th consecutive year I am taking the 100 Wave Challenge for Boys to Men Mentoring. Boys to Men Mentoring is a nonprofit organization facilitating consistent group mentoring for the fatherless, at-risk, and disconnected teenage boys of San Diego County. As a father of three boys myself I know how hard it is to give them confidence and security in today’s world. Without a father or mentor that becomes incredibly difficult and the statistics show the affects.
There is nothing more powerful than surrounding a young man with a community of support and giving him the opportunity to reach his fullest potential. I hope to do that this year by attempting to catch 100 waves in one day to raise money and awareness for Boys to Men.
This event has been growing every year meaning the number of fatherless boys helped grows too. This year B2M expects to be able to help over 1,000 boys in the great program. Thankfully it is back like “pre Covid” to one event, all surfers at the same time on Mission Beach on September 16th.
