Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Of course Aaron’s going to spend all day surfing… big surprise.” And yeah, you’re not wrong — but this one’s about more than just me getting sunburned and pretending I still have the stamina of a 20-year-old.

This event raises money for Boys to Men Mentoring (B2M), a nonprofit here in San Diego that connects fatherless and at-risk teenage boys with positive male role models. They run consistent group mentoring programs at middle schools, high schools, and community centers, giving these young men encouragement, accountability, and the kind of support every kid deserves.

So while I’ll be out there trying to paddle for 100 waves in a single day (and probably questioning my life choices around wave #63), the real reason I’m doing it is to back B2M’s mission. Because helping these boys find guidance and community is way more important than me proving I can still pop up without pulling a hamstring.
