I am taking the 100 Wave Challenge on Saturday, September 27th at Mission Beach benefiting Boys to Men Mentoring (B2M). This is my 4th year fundraising for this event! In 2019 my oldest son, Rylan, was a spectator as I participated in the event. This year I am proud that he wanted to be a participant to surf and fundraise. Rylan, as our team's captain, and I will raise funds to support B2M's efforts to bring positive male mentorship to hundreds of young men in San Diego County. Unfortunately earlier in the week he broke his hand so he will be cheering me on on the beach again another year.
Boys to Men Mentoring is a nonprofit organization facilitating consistent group mentoring for the fatherless, at-risk, and disconnected teenage boys of San Diego County. Through strategic partnerships with local middle schools, high schools, and community partner locations, Boys to Men connects teenage boys with compassionate mentors who provide the encouragement, empowerment, and accountability they need to thrive.
There is nothing more powerful than surrounding a young man with a community of support and giving him the opportunity to reach his fullest potential. I hope to do that this year by attempting to catch 100 waves in one day to raise money and awareness for Boys to Men.
Please consider making a donation to my page and help me support these young men who are working to be the best they can be!
