The Bleeding Disorders Foundation of Florida (BDFF) is a non-profit organization near and dear to our hearts. As many of you know, our daughter Liliana has a rare bleeding disorder called Bernard Soulier Syndrome. When we first got her diagnosis, we were overwhelmed. We were quickly connected to the BDFF, who has provided an amazing community for us. The BDFF provides invaluable service to the bleeding disorder community, including educational events, special events for children with bleeding disorders (like summer camps Liliana can go to when she is older), information and referral services, advocacy, and research. Through them we have found a network of experts and other families who are going through the same thing as us. They have helped us with practical things, like finding care and sending us medical alert bracelets and identifiers for Liliana’s car seats. Perhaps, more importantly, they have helped us feel less alone during a very difficult time in our lives. We are so thankful they exist to help families like us. In honor of Liliana, we have decided to join in the BDFF’s Creepy Crawl fundraising event this year! Your support, whether big or small, can help provide valuable resources to those in need.
