My Story
On March 25th, 2025—Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness—I was officially diagnosed with Epilepsy. My journey began suddenly on a Sunday night when I experienced my very first seizure. Over the next three days, my world was turned upside down as I endured 52 seizures. Since then, life has changed in many ways, and I now measure time in weeks between seizures—sometimes going just one week, other times up to four. This diagnosis has not been easy, but I am working hard every day to find my new normal and continue moving forward.
This November, during National Epilepsy Awareness Month, I want to turn my experience into action by raising awareness and funds for Epilepsy Canada. To do that, I am taking on the October 1in100km Challenge—walking, running, and biking 100 kilometers to support research, advocacy, and resources for those living with epilepsy. My hope is to make a difference, not just for myself, but for the 1 in 100 Canadians who share this journey.
