In 2024 my daughter started having seizures, getting a diagnosis was a bit tricky at first because she kept having “unwitnessed episodes” but in April she finally had one that was witnessed and she was finally prescribed meds to control it. Things were going well for 6 months but then the seizures started again. She’s been through several tests, most recently a 5-Day EEG to get a seizure captured and find out if she is a candidate for surgery. Sadly she is not, she has a very uncommon kind of seizures, they start as Generalized (whole brain) and end in Focal (specific point) and she’s completely functioning for the first 20 seconds before it kicks in. In the spirit of hoping to raise much needed funds and awareness for Epilepsy research, I will be running 100km through October for the #1in100 awareness campaign ?
