I was diagnosed in 1993 at 9 yrs old with Juvenile Generalized Epilepsy and told I would grow out of it, but here I am today - still seizing and still waiting to grow out of it. I am now officially diagnosed with Drug-Resistant Genetic Generalized Epilepsy. I have the pleasure of being shocked every day with a vagus nerve stimulator and (almost) enjoy living an Oreo and pasta-free life on the ketogenic diet. Laughing aside, my true passion comes from my experience in Epilepsy and my ability to survive (and sometimes thrive). I have taken this passion and become a therapist for individuals with epilepsy!
