Western Carolina Sailing Club's Diva Regatta to Benefit Safe Harbor

On May 4, 2018, WCSC will be hosting our Annual Diva Regatta. Over the last 7 years, this event has raised more than $33,000 for Safe Harbor. Last year our goal was $10,000 which got blown out of the water with a final number of $16,600.

We will have a Distance Course open to all boats with 2 fleets. One requiring a female at the helm and the other requiring a female participating on board. They will have the same start but will be scored separately. We will also have a Juniors Course. They will have their own separate course. After sailing, we will have raffles, appetizers, dinner and awards. New Addition: Appetizer Contest. Our Sailormen would like to have a contest for the best appetizer as well as host the social hour. Come with your appetites. Sunday we will have a brunch and for those who can stay and play, we will have some more sailing opportunties.

Diva Regatta will continue to have a goal of raising money for Safe Harbor. Safe Harbor provides a continuum of services for victims of domestic violence and their children. They also strive to eliminate cultural acceptance of domestic violence through a coordinated community response, prevention and education. The aim is to influence a culture where all people are safe and valued in their relationships.
