The 2018 Baltimore Running Festival was held during my first week on the job as COO at Helping Up Mission (HUM).  Running the half-marathon as part of Team HUM was a quick immersion into the life and neighborhoods of Baltimore City, experiencing both hope and pain along the way.

Now, nearly a year later...our family is living in Baltimore after Angela and the kids finished the school year in Arizona.  And we are even more passionate about the work of Helping Up Mission, seeing daily both the inspiring moments and heartbreak shown in a small way in this video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ2r_Z5rokY  Just in the past year, we've opened a new primary care clinic to serve the 500 residents at HUM and expanded our programs to serve women in need with new residential program in partnership with Johns Hopkins Hospital as well as a Spiritual Recovery Program for women.
