I could never repay Helping Up Mission for what they have done for me. In 2014 I came to HUM addicted to Opioids, my life was completly unmanagable. My house was in foreclosure, I totaled my truck, I wasn't employable, I lost the respect of all the people I loved. I stayed for six months and decided to leave the program early. This proved to be a poor decision, leading to relapse and legal trouble. In 2015 I came back to HUM, this time completing the one year spiritual recovery program. After graduating in 2016 I was afforded the opportunity to continue to live at HUM while pursuing a Bechelor's degree that I had started almost 20 years prior. In 2017 I graduated from the University of Baltimore with a degree in Human Services. I currently work as a Treatment Coordinator, at the Mission, where I get to use my experience to help men acheive there goals and help mentor them through the program and the recovery process. I feel called to the recovery ministry and I am currently working on a Master's of Divinty degree in seminary school. I owe all the credit to the trnsforming power of the Gospel message, which is the foundation of my recovery as well as Helping Up Mission.
