A while ago I ventured on a tour of the Lighthouse Central and did the BLINK Experience. Aside from learning of the programs and touring the facilities, I had a simulation of what it tfeels like to be the person with a vision impairment, learning to navigate a room being led by someone else (talk about trust), following directions, learning to find your seat around the table, learning how to figure out where your food and eating utensils are on the table, and touching/tasting to determine what you're eating. That is major stuff!

That was an hour for me, but a lifetime for persons with vision impairment. That translated into me making a decision to do something to contribute to the organization's efforts to care for and support such a vulnerable population. And...I will have fun in the process and that's important.
