Please consider helping me raise money for Children's Cancer Connection, an organization that meant a lot to 2 former students of mine...and still means a lot to their families. Children’s Cancer Connection, is a non-profit based in Des Moines. Since 1988, the organization has aimed to help pediatric cancer patients and their families in Iowa, regardless of treatment outcome or years off treatment. They support the entire family through the entire cancer journey by providing services (education, recreation, and support) at little-to-no cost. Two of my former BFCSD students, Landon Friedrickson and Ava Hutchinson, participated in MANY of Children’s Cancer Connection programs/camps and were helped by their support services (their families still are). I have participated in the IMT Des Moines Marathon races before...but I had no idea Children's Cancer Connection was a race partner. I knew this was an opportunity to help an organization with personal meaning to myself, and an organization that I know meant a lot/means a lot to people who are important to me - it is the perfect way for me to give extra meaning to this year's race. I would love to raise $500 for Children's Cancer Connection before the race in October! Thank you in advance!
