Please consider helping me raise money for Children's Cancer Connection, an organization that meant a lot to 2 former students of mine...and still means a lot to their families.
Children’s Cancer Connection, is a non-profit based in Des Moines. Since 1988, the organization has aimed to help pediatric cancer patients and their families in Iowa, regardless of treatment outcome or years off treatment. They support the entire family through the entire cancer journey by providing services (education, recreation, and support) at little-to-no cost. Two of my former BFCSD students, Landon Friedrickson and Ava Hutchinson, participated in MANY of Children’s Cancer Connection programs/camps and were helped by their support services (their families still are).
I have participated in the IMT Des Moines Marathon races before...but I had no idea Children's Cancer Connection was a race partner. I knew this was an opportunity to help an organization with personal meaning to myself, and an organization that I know meant a lot/means a lot to people who are important to me - it is the perfect way for me to give extra meaning to this year's race. I would love to raise $500 for Children's Cancer Connection before the race in October!

Join Children's Cancer Connection's third annual IMT Des Moines Marathon team, #TeamCCC in support of hundreds of families affected by childhood cancer throughout the state of Iowa. Children's Cancer Connection provides families an opportunity to connect through family outings, hospital and clinic-based programs, and camps and retreats. These events are provided free of cost to families because of generous donors, volunteers and community partners. Help us, support some of the most deserving families in the state of Iowa through #TeamCCC! Runners will join thousands on October 21st in Des Moines Iowa, but will do so in memory and honor of our Children's Cancer Connection families.
