Hi friends and animal lovers! Please support me as I walk in the 2021 Capital Area Humane Society’s Walk for the Animals.

We are working hard at the clinic to keep up with the need for low cost spay & neuter in our community. We feel that everyone should be able to get their pet fixed no matter what - and we MAKE THAT HAPPEN! We have done over 4,000 surgeries on dogs and cats so far in 2021. WOW! 

Our TNR (trap-neuter-return) program for free roaming/unowned/feral cats is free to our community. The demand has been very high this year. Being able to continue to offer this service at NO COST is so important to keeping our local feral communities healthy, fixed and numbers under control.

Our shelter location is incredible and goes above and beyond helping dogs and cats get healthy and then find new homes. They take in owner surrenders, court cases, abuse cases where animals need not just extra medical care, but behaviorial training which we offer as well. That is why we have such an incredible save rate of over 96% (% of animals admitted into the shelter that are not euthanized). 

With no state or federal funding, and no affiliation with any other humane organizations, it is solely the support of the community that keeps CAHS going.
