Animal lovers, I need your help!

Please support me as I walk in the 2021 Capital Area Humane Society’s Walk for the Animals. This year I am walking in memory of my beautiful dog, Snuffy. When I adopted her as cute, fuzzy little puppy from CAHS in 2009, I never could have imagined how special she was or how much happiness she would fill my life with. She went to work with me at the shelter for several years, helping our behavior staff assess the new dogs that came to the shelter and working with the very energetic ones who needed to learn proper doggy behavior. During those years, she helped over 1,000 dogs get ready to find their new homes. After she retired from going to work with me, she enjoyed the rest of her years at home hanging out with her animal siblings, snuggling and grooming the cats, playing with the dogs and greeting all the neighbors along our daily walks . She was brave and confident, kind and playful, and so very smart. She loved everyone, people and animals alike, and wanted nothing more than to get attention from and give kisses to everyone she met. She was beautiful, inside and out. My beloved Snuffy was called to heaven in May of this year.  As hard as it has been to lose her, I know I will forever cherish every moment we had together the past twelve years. And I am so grateful to CAHS for rescuing her as a puppy and bringing such a wonderful soul into my life as they have done for so many other families.

Every day, animals arrive at the doors of the Capital Area Humane Society with nothing more than hope for a better future. With the economy struggling, it is no question that when people suffer, animals can suffer, but CAHS is there to take these animals in, and provide them with food, shelter, medical care, and love.

With no state or federal funding, and no affiliation with any other humane organizations, it is solely the support of the community that keeps CAHS going. Please, help me in supporting this critical work, that helps homeless animals find warmth, comfort, and unconditional love with a forever family.
