Sports and team activities build collaborative skills, instill self-confidence, and create community. At The Guild School, we provide students with the opportunity to participate in team sports through our adaptive recreation department and Special Olympics competitions. We’re excited that this year, The Guild Special Olympics Walking Team will be joining us in the Flutie 5k!
The Guild Special Olympics Walking club helps Guild School students reach their fitness goals while fostering a sense of community. The club consists of about 20 students across three Guild residences and meets every other week to walk 1-1.5 miles along the scenic Minuteman Walking Trail in Lincoln. Guild students are excited to increase awareness of Special Olympics Massachusetts by participating in the Flutie 5k this year. All funds raised will go back to The Guild for Human Services to support our programs and services, like our adaptive recreation program.
