I was in 6th grade when a classmate of mine was diagnosed with cancer. With him and his family facing the scariest news imaginable, ASK stepped in. The people at ASK helped them in a number of ways . They were everything from a source of comfort, compassion and advice, to helping out financially when his parents weren't able to work because they had to travel for treatments. They were a light in the darkness for my friend and his family.  It has been 25 years since then, I get goosebumps thinking of how many families they have been that light for since then.
