GETTING STARTED

Can I register to run/walk at the event?

  • Yes, walk-up registrations are available starting at 8am. You can also register at Early Packet Pick-up on Friday, May 5th, from 12pm to 7:00pm at ASK’s office located at 5211 West Broad Street, Suite 100, Richmond, VA.


What do my registration fees cover?

  • Your walk/run registration includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, and ticket to the Flying Squirrels game on Saturday, September 9th for ASK Night at The Diamond. Because you receive these awesome goodies in return, your registration is not tax deductible but donations are!


Registration for kids?

  • All kids aged 6 or older must register to take part in the 5K. They will receive a bib number and t-shirt. Younger kids (age 5 or below) are welcome to take part for free, however, they will not receive a bib or t-shirt.


Will I get a timing chip?

  • Registered runners will have timing chips. Results will be posted on this site as soon as possible after the event. A timing clock will also be in view at the start and finish lines.


Where can I get a receipt for my donation?

  • All donations directly benefit ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed. A receipt will be automatically emailed you if making your gift online. If you need a copy of your receipt, contact Sarah Kelly at skelly@askccf.org or call 804-658-5910.


Can I personalize my fundraising page?

  • Please do! Through “Edit my Fundraiser” tab you can upload a photo and tell your own story about why ASK is important to you, how it touches your heart, and why it matters. Reach out to everyone you know to ask them for their help in reaching your goal! Visit the Tool Kit section for help on how to customize your page.

EVENT HAPPENINGS

Where do I park? Where is registration? Where is the starting line?

  • Don't worry, we have your questions covered with our Parking Map and Course Map! Parking is available at The Diamond via the entrance off Robin Hood Road, behind the Arthur Ashe Athletic Center. Registration and packet pickup is at the Party Pavilion located outside right field of the ballpark. The starting line is located outside of the Party Pavilion in the parking lot.


Can I pick up my registration packet early?

  • Yes, Early Packet Pickup will be on Friday, May 5th, from 12pm to 7:00pm at ASK’s office located at 5211 W. Broad Street, Suite 100, Richmond, VA.


Can I pick up packets for my entire team?

  • Yes, you can pick-up your team's packets during Early Packet Pick-Up. Just give us a call at 804-658-5910 an hour in advance of picking up and we'll have everything ready for you.


Can I pick up my friend's packet?

  • Yes, you can pick-up your friend's packet. Just make sure they know you're picking up for them.


Can I sign up to walk/run after online registration closes?

  • Yes, walk-up registrations are available starting at 8am. You can also register at Early Packet Pick-up on Friday, May 5th, from 12pm to 7:00pm at ASK’s office located at 5211 West Broad Street, Suite 100, Richmond, VA. Walk-up registrations are $40 for Adults (15 & older) and $30 for Youth (ages 6-14).


Can I pick up my packet the day of the race?
Yes, packet pickup is available starting at 8am at the Party Pavilion located outside right field of the ballpark. Be sure to give yourself time to park, pickup and get to the starting line by 9:30am. You don't want to miss the pre-race tailgate party!

RACE DAY

Dropping off pledges?

  • Certainly! Just stop by the pledge table near Registration and we’ll take care of it. Thank you!


Water stops?

  • Of course! Water stops will be located at mile markers one and two as well as the finish line.


What about food?

  • Finish line food includes granola bars, bananas and treats at the finish line festival.


Can I bring a stroller or wheelchair?

  • All types are welcome at our event. If you're participating in the race, please line up behind the runners at the start line. If you're a spectator or heading to the concourse for the post-race festival, there is an elevator located inside the stadium which can be accessed through the tunnel. Handicap seating can be found behind home base on the Main Concourse.


Can I bring my pet?

  • As much as we love animals, due to venue policy, we ask that you please leave Fido at home. 


Will Nutzy be there?

  • He'll be there, and Nutasha of course!


What other things are there to do?

  • We'll have a pre-race tailgate party starting at 8:30am with music, games, spirit stations and activities. After the race be sure to check out the family festival in the concourse or take a seat in the stands near home plate to cheer on the runners and walkers crossing the finish line. Then, at 11:00 get ready for the Kourageous Kids Victory Lap where we need everyone to cheer on our brave children.


What is ASK Night at the Diamond?

  • As special honorees of the Flying Squirrels, our ASK kids will be recognized on the field during Saturday's game on September 9th. ASK will be recognized throughout the game, Flying Squirrels players will be wearing specialty ASK jerseys that will be auctioned off, and all ASK kids are invited to participate in the Kourageous Kids Victory Lap during the 7th inning stretch. Your Flying Squirrels game ticket is included with your registration and will be in your race packet.
  • This is a special event you don’t want to miss! Wear your ASK Walk t-shirt to the game! Bring your friends! Take lots of pictures! Make some noise! See you there!
