What, you may ask is a 'barefoot walk' and who would do such a walk? Just one of many reasons is that the 'Barefoot Mile' is an event to raise support for the fight against human trafficking! The goal is to garner support to walk just one mile barefoot.
Recently, I was invited to a breakfast meeting to hear Dr. Jeff Brodsky, share his story and how the 'barefoot walk' came into being. After hearing and seeing for myself the reason, it all made perfect sense that walking just one mile to raise awareness and funds for this great cause was the least I could do. Learning that our very city is #8 in the country for human trafficking, which includes ALL ages of children, was something that I could never again 'unhear, forget or not do my part' to make a difference.
