Greg's story.

When Greg rapidly became ill, he never anticipated the need for tube feedings to sustain his health. But as months passed by, weakness took hold. He could not afford the nutrition needed to help build his strength so he could begin his cancer treatment.

That’s when a Health First case manager reached out to the Foundation for a lifeline. Greg received a Guardian Angel Grant from the Compassionate Care Fund, which made it possible to get the nutrition and transportation that he needed to heal well.

Joe's story.

When Joe Graham found out he had laryngeal cancer (a type of cancer that affects the larynx or voice box), he knew he could be “worried, angry, or stubbornly positive.” Joe was determined to be positive, but when the person he thought he could count on for support could not cope with his diagnosis, he was left without rides to his appointments.

Because of the Compassionate Care Fund, all that changed. With the help of his Guardian Angel Grant, transportation fares were covered – so he could access the care he needed.

Sue's story.

Sue has been living with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). For Sue, every breath was a battle, and simple tasks turned into monumental struggles. The increased cost of her inhaler, a lifeline for managing her condition, became a barrier she couldn't overcome on her own.

Thanks to a Guardian Angel Grant, the cost of her inhaler was covered, giving Sue the gift of breath, the ability to face each day with renewed strength, and the comfort of knowing that she wasn't alone on her journey.
