Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a registration fee?
- Yes, there is a registration fee for adults and kids (ages 4-12). Please check the LEAD-A-THON event page for pricing.
Why do I need to register?

What if I don’t want to join a team?
- You are more than welcome to attend our event even if you don't wish to sign up for a team. Simply click "Join as an Individual" from the "Participation Preference" options menu on the registration form after clicking the "Register" tab at the top of this page. We would, however, like to invite you to join us in the mission by raising donations on your own! You can sign up as an individual fundraiser and create your own fundraising goal.
What do I do if I can’t attend the LEAD-A-THON event?
- Although we'd love for you to be in attendance, no worries if you can't attend the field day event. Is there a fundraising minimum?
- There is no fundraising minimum or maximum! We encourage all participants to fundraise in support of the mission of the LEAD Girls of N.C.
How can I get others involved?
- The very best way? Become a team captain and recruit a team! When you register, click "Start a team" and invite family, friends, and co-workers to join you.
How many people can be on my team?
- There is no limit to the number of individuals who can join your team! The more, the better!
What kind of support will I or my team receive?

- The individual and team that raises the most money will receive a certificate on behalf of LEAD Girls of N.C.
Where does my money go?
- Funds you help raise allow LEAD Girls of N.C. to offer more community and school-based programs to low-income/ at-risk pre-teen girls in WS/FCS. It takes approximately $850 to fund one program year for a LEAD Girl. This year, our goal is $30,000 which allows us to serve a full-year program at a school. How many girls will you help gain access to resources to match their limitless potential? We would love your support in bringing LEAD Girls to another Title One School! Help us support and empower young girls to become productive citizens and active leaders within their communities.
How are donations made? What if I want to turn in cash?
- Credit card donations are made securely online to your personal fundraising page or the main event page. Check and cash donations are also accepted, and should be mailed to LEAD Girls of N.C., 500 W. Fourth St., Suite 203B, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
