Why I Walk

Our family will be doing the walk for preeclampsia this June again. If anyone would like to join our team in the walk or donate, we would sincerely appreciate it!

Preeclampsia is one of the leading causes of maternal death. On average, over 70,000 women and 500,000 babies worldwide are lost each year to this. I am one of the lucky ones that this was caught and both Will and I were okay. But truthfully, I have never been the same physically or emotionally since experiencing it. 

Unfortunately, there is no “cure” for this right now, just delivering the baby. It is still unknown what causes this and why it is becoming more common as the years pass. But walking and raising money and awareness is what we can do to help prevent other women from experiencing the same thing.
