In November of 2019, when I was 21 weeks pregnant, I was diagnosed with early onset preeclampsia. I was admitted to the hospital and discharged six days later, and we came home with empty arms and heavy hearts.
Since then I've had two healthy pregnancies and term births, giving us Elizabeth (born April 2021) and Ethan (born March 2023). The only difference was a low dose of aspirin.
I was lucky to have wonderful care, educated providers, and support from family and friends. I walk because I want everyone to have the same care I d id.
