Experience the raw, unspoiled beauty of South Africa, and challenge yourself physically, mentally and emotionally as you trek through the country’s breathtaking landscapes. Hike through iconic peaks, soak in cold waters, and slide down amazing dunes. 

Through this adventure, forge deep bonds with fellow trekkers and discover the strength and resilience within you. Develop an appreciation for nature, as you take in the majesty of South Africa's mountains. Nurture a love of all people and cultures, as you strive to help people across the globe.

Support our work in South Africa

As part of this life-changing adventure, you will receive a personal fundraising page to support a cause of your choice. Your fundraising goal is to raise $2,000, which will go towards supporting Islamic Relief’s vital work in South Africa.

Our team will provide you with tips and tools on how to kickstart your fundraising journey and support you along the way. Through the South Africa Challenge, you will also visit Islamic Relief’s ongoing and completed projects in Cape Town South africa and witness firsthand how your fundraising efforts can change lives.

What will Islamic Relief cover with registration fees?

  • Transportation within South Africa including to/from airport in Cape Town
  • 3 meals/day for duration of trip (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
  • 7 Nights Accommodation
  • Costs of all activities and tours
  • Entrance fees for sites/parks

What will YOU have to cover?

  • Transportation to/from South Africa (Flight + Baggage expenses)
  • Selected meals on arrival/departure dates
  • Snacks outside of meals

  • Medical Expenses (travel insurance is required)

DAY 1 - Sunday November 19, 2023

Arrival in Cape Town airport and transportation to the hotel in Greenpoint, and a short tour of the city bowl.

DAY 2 - Monday November 20, 2023

Three peaks challenge hike- Devil's Peak, Table Mountain, and Lion's Head

DAY 3 - Tueday November 21, 2023

Kayak adventure, cold water swim, and a visit to Islamic Relief Cape Town project

DAY 4 - Wednesday November 22, 2023

80 KM cycle race

DAY 5 - Thursday November 23, 2023

Sandboarding adventure at Atlantis Dunes and a one time experience at Table Mountain

DAY 6- Friday November 24, 2023

Robben Island tour

DAY 7 - Saturday November 25, 2023

Cape Penisula tour- Cape Point, The Ostrich Farm, Simons Town and Boulders Beach, and Chapman's Peak

Sign Up Eligibility

  • Age: 18 years or older
  • Vaccination Status: Double Vaccinated
  • Physically fit (able to participate in physically inclined challenges)
  • No serious medical/health conditions that could affect your well-being (i.e. physical injuries, heart condition, pregnancy) *Please consult with your doctor prior to signing up
  • All participants must raise 100% of fundraising goal prior to Novemebr 19, 2023

Refund Policy

  • Refund requests for deposit payments will be accepted until October 20, 2023
  • After October 20, 2023 deposit payments are non-refundable
