WHY I TAKE THE PLUNGE
On Sunday, March 3, 2024 I will participate in the 2024 Chicago Polar Plunge, one of the city's most popular winter fundraising events with my teacher coworkers!
Each year my Diverse Learner students take part in special olympics events held throughout the city. Throughout the year my amazing students spend time practiticing for these events and the joy and excitement that it brings to their eyes is heartwarming. It is something we all look forward to throughout the year.
Special Olympics teaches student athletes valuable motor skills, independance, confidence, and teamwork. If you've ever been to a Special Olympics event you can feel the love, respect, and fun in the air. It's one of the most beautiful experiences you can have. The confidence and joy I see in my students faces tops any hard day that may come along. We plunge because we are dedicated to making sure that Special Olympics has the funds and support that will allow them to continue to host these amazing events for children all across our city.
