6 years ago, I heard how the labor community was entrenched with the beginning of the Special Olympics. Not just any labor community, but Chicago's labor community. I heard the calling to bring the hard hats to the plunge and now we are in our 5th plunge in 6 years. I have been honored to plunge along with brothers and sisters in Local#63. I am excited to take on the challenge of the Chicago Polar Plunge and jump into Lake Michigan’s chilly waters to support thousands of Chicagoans who participate in Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children’s Charities programs. With your support, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments.
