On Sunday, March 3, 2024, I’m participating, with my team the Rockford Peaches, in this year’s 2024 Chicago Polar Plunge to raise funds to support our 7,500 Special Olympics Chicago athletes!!! Through your donations, people with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to discover new strengths, abilities, and accomplishments.
My why, is based on two important people in my life, my sister Nancy, and my friend Theresa’s' brother, Andrew. Both of them are no longer with us, but faced their disabilities with courage their entire lives. My sister Nancy competed in Special Olympics in Swimming and was a huge part of her life. I actually have her medal hanging in my classroom! This will actually be my 5th Polar Plunge! You are more than welcome to join our team (you know you want to!!)
