Dravet Syndrome is an epileptic and developmental encephalopathy.  

Zander began having seizures at 15 months (later than most with his condition).  His seizures were severe and long, but not frequent until he was 5 years old.  He has a seizure in a pool at camp and suffered a near drowning. It's been a constant struggle and medication adjustment since to try to get his seizures under control without total sedation.  

The Dravet Syndrome Foundation has helped us in so many ways. Not only are they finding research  and advocating for awareness and helpful legislatin, but they've created a support network for families going through this.
