This winter, I will be participating in the 2024 Holiday Appeal to benefit Emotions Matter,
Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization to support people impacted by BPD. This organization is important to me, and I would like to invite you to support my efforts to fundraise for Emotions Matter this holiday season.
What is BPD? Up to 1.6% of Americans suffer from borderline personality disorder (BPD), a
serious mental illness characterized by emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, depression
and suicidality. Thankfully, with proper treatment and community support, individuals with
BPD experience meaningful, productive lives.
Why I care: Millions of Americans struggle without access to expensive BPD treatments often
not covered by health insurance. BPD continues to be the most stigmatized mental illness, due
to lack of public awareness and clinical education. Sadly, up to 10% of those diagnosed with
BPD die by suicide.
What the funds are for: I'm participating in the 2024 to change that. Funds raised from the Holiday Appeal will support Emotions Matter’s innovative peer support group programs, conferences, educational resources and advocacy efforts in 2025. It will keep peer support and education free for people struggling with BPD.
