Can you imagine what it would be like to be homeless in February?! On February 15th at 11AM, I will be cycling on a spin-bike, outdoors in the middle of winter, to raise money for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Boston. It will be a reminder that spending just one hour out in the cold, rain, or snow is nothing compared to living without the comforts of a home.

On any given night in Boston, there are 4,645 people experiencing homelessness: 1,591 individuals and 3,054 people in families. Over the course of a year, more than 15,000 people will experience homelessness in Boston, and local, state, and federal sources will spend over $200M in emergency services to address the problem in Boston.
HomeStart serves thousands of people each year in the Greater Boston Area. Their clients include single parents and their children, survivors of domestic violence, veterans, and persons with disabilities. All of them are living at or below the poverty line.
