Our Programs

JA In-Class Programs: provide work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy curriculum to students from Kindergarten through 12th grade in the format of comprehensive classroom lessons. Using prepared kits which include all of the lessons and materials needed, each volunteer spends a half hour to one hour per week for five to seven weeks in each classroom. These programs strive to develop basic workplace skills and an understanding of how to achieve financial goals, and promote graduation as a pathway to personal success.

JA BizTown: A high-impact program for upper elementary school students that blends teacher-led curriculum with a culminating, five-hour simulation experience in an 8,500 square foot replica of an American city.

Students experience a real-world based simulation running a town with various business roles like operating banks, managing businesses, writing checks, voting and even swearing in a daily Mayor.

Junior Achievement of Oregon & SW Washington opened their second site in Downtown Hillsboro on December 5, 2023 — marking JA USA’s 44th site in the United States.

JA Finance Park: The JA Finance Park program is portable with an exhibit that can travel to communities across the region. Easy set up in convention centers, fairground buildings, etc.

Our financial literacy program for middle and high school students blends teacher‐led classroom instruction with a culminating volunteer-led simulation. Through JA Finance Park, students build a balanced household budget utilizing an iPad as well as our JA Finance Park app.
