I was 1 in 3 and that is why this cause is so dear to me.
Did you know that 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer and 1 in 12 women diagnosed with cancer will not survive.
On October 30th, 2019, I was 1 in 3.
Thankfully I was fortunate that I responded well to treatment but do to the extent of the disease when it was found I have to be monitored for the rest of my life.
Unfortunately, not everyone diagnosed will survive and sadly to say in November 2023 a close childhood friend of mine who was also 1 of 3, lost her battle to stage 4 colorectal cancer.
That is why I decided to take part on October 5th in the 2024 MK5K. To help the Mary Kay Ash Foundation in their efforts to find a cure for cancer.
Another great cause that the Mary Kay Ash Foundation supports is to help women who are victims of domestic violence.
