I'll tell you what I'm doing! But first, a little background....
A little over 13 years ago, my twin brother Will and his wife Anna Ruth made one of the most courageous decisions any parent could ever make. A decision to this day that I marvel at and am always in complete awe. They decided to adopt a child with Down's Syndrome. This child hadn't even been born yet when they learned of the very young mother who also made a daunting life decision, to give up the child at birth. Frances McCalley came into the world in February of 2011 and has been a fireball of joy and energy ever since! At age 13 now, Frances loves gymnastics, dancing, running, singing, playing with friends, putting on makeup and from what I've learned recently, loves having breakfast served to her in bed! Ha!
With that being said, I am excited to announce that in November, I will be running The 2024 TCS New York City Marathon for The Bell Center and in honor of my niece, Frances! This incredible nonprofit organization provides Early Intervention therapy to children with special needs. What they have done for Frances and so many other children with special needs is beyond remarkable! My goal is to raise $115 per every mile of my marathon. I hope you will consider joining me in supporting this worthy cause!
**Did I mention Frances was a runner? See the picture below on this page when she was 8 years old running in the Kids Mercedes Marathon. This picture says it all! She was determined to finish her race and I will likewise be determined to finish my both my road and fundraising race for The Bell Center!
