I support Project GRAD Akron’s scholarship fund because I believe in the mission of the organization and I’m a strong advocate for lifelong learning.  I believe that education is key to a brighter future.

Name of your favorite teacher and what made the person special to you:  Mrs. Guernia Morgan was my grade school teacher at Crouse Elementary School.  She was a tall, powerful, compassionate and confident African American woman.  She was a great role model for me.  I admired and adored her.  She was always very supportive of me.  She encouraged me to be my best self.

What were some of your most enjoyable times in school?  (preschool through college): I enjoyed going to the high school dances. I also enjoyed going to the high school football and basketball games with my friends.

Looking back over the years, what advice would you give to your high school self or college self: Live life to the fullest.  Don’t limit yourself based on society’s expectations or norms.  Explore all of your options.  Believe in yourself.
