I'm walking in the pre-eclampsia foundation walk because one year ago when I had Bailey I developed postpartum pre-eclampsia. Postpartum pre-eclampsia can be fatal or have life-long medical implications for the pre-eclampsia survivor.
I was fortunate that we were able to get my blood pressure under control after 3 months. But I will continue to be on a low-sodium diet to control my blood pressure and reduce my risk of stroke and heart disease.
Currently there aren't any tests to test for the probability of pre-eclampsia. It's a waiting game where you have to wait for your blood pressure to rise to get treatment or diagnoses.
