At 34 weeks I started to not feel good and was swelling even more. I had gone to my OB appointment and was just told it was normal pregnancy and it was probably from being on my feet all day and being stressed at work. A few days later I woke up with my eyes swollen and the next day at work took my blood pressure which was 170/100. I was sent down to OB where they ran some test and was given a shot to help Maddie's lungs develop more and they were hoping to get me to at least 37 weeks. However that Friday I woke up with the worst headache of my life and knew something was wrong. We went in that morning and by 10:17am at 35 weeks Maddie was born via emergency C-section and had to spend 19 days in the NICU. I am walking this year to help raise awareness and funds to help support preeclampsia research in hopes some day someone doesn't have to experience what I did.
