Why I Walk

I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia in 2021 while pregnant with my son James. I was fortunate to have a wonderful healthcare team who helped me make it to 34 weeks for delivery. The time spent in the NICU, recovering both physically and mentally, and the postpartum depression that followed meant my motherhood journey looked nothing like I expected. I'm thankful for the resources the Preeclampsia Foundation provides and their ongoing research efforts. Hopefully one day soon there will be better ways to prevent and treat this condition.
