Why I am Participating:

My name is Casey Johnson. As a realtor at Smith Mountain Lake, I am deeply ingrained in many different aspects of our community. My involvement with the Local Chamber, various fundraisers, and local charities allows me to actively contribute to the betterment of our area, supporting local causes and businesses every step of the way. Beyond my professional pursuits, I am also a passionate photographer, capturing the essence and beauty of Smith Mountain Lake through my lens. I have two corgis named Nova and Nebula, who love meeting new people and puppies! Empowering my fellow women is a cause close to my heart, and I strive to uplift and inspire others in everything I do. Participating in Sole Stars is just one way I channel my dedication to making a difference and leaving a lasting impact on those around me.

What is a Sole Star?

The Sole Stars campaign engages leaders in our communities as representatives in the fight against breast cancer.  During the month-long campaign, each Sole Star will raise or give a minimum of $1,000, which will be used to support the work of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF.) The money raised through the Roanoke Sole Stars campaign will pay for breast health services like diagnostic mammograms, MRIs, ultrasounds and biopsies for uninsured and underinsured women in Southwest Virginia.

Sole (noun): the undersurface of a shoe; the sole is meant to provide footwear with the necessary support, giving traction and protection from the surfaces it will be in contact with.  

Star (noun): a celebrated, prominent or distinguished person; synonym: VIP · (very) important person.

VBCF Sole Star (noun): a very important person providing support for our mission to eradicate breast cancer by raising awareness and funds in their community and providing traction for our mission; willing to have fun while wearing awesome pink shoes!
