Hello! I am Hannah Stein. I am fundraising for my second marathon, second Chicago, and second time running for Erika's Lighthouse. I am so excited for this opportunity again and to be able to raise more money to help this amazing cause. As someone that has struggled with mental health and anxiety for as long as I remember, I greatly believe it is so important for children/students to be educated on depression/mental health and ways that they can find and access support. Being a teacher, I see the way that mental health is impacting students in these days. There are children feeling helpless and not knowing what to do at younger and younger ages. They need the supports that Erika's Lighthouse can provide. As of 2023, 29% of Americans said that they have been diagnosed with Depression at some point in their life. When combined with non-diagnosed individuals that are being affected, that's a huge number of people. With those stats, shouldn't we all be educated on what depression is and how it can affect us? Chances are that we encounter so many people with depression or other mental health issues on the daily and most schools don't do a good enough job at educating our youth on these things. Help me raise money to help our children to access the resources they need to be aware of mental health and the ways that they can get help, if needed. Any donation amount is much appreciated!
