Anne Contreras

I am a survivor of a suicide attempt when I was a teenager. I simply didn’t know that it was OK to not be OK. I was truly blessed to have it fail, and to have family, friends and teachers who showed me love, care and compassion. I was able to get the help I needed, and Erika’s Lighthouse is doing that for today’s teenagers. Mental health awareness and advocacy is important to them as it is to me. Support me as I challenge myself to raise awareness and educate teens about depression.

Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. We are dedicated to creating a community of empathy and education. We create middle school and high school teen depression awareness programs so educators and teens can create safe spaces to learn about depression, letting students know they are never alone, and there is somewhere to turn.
