With the recent Parkinson diagnosis of my husband David/Dad/Pops, we are trying to help raise funds for all things Parkinson's! David's great attitude and positivity has inspired us to get active in the Parkinsons Community. With his typical humor, David picked our team name of "Lakey Shakey",  for his love of beautiful Lake Michigan and his favorite ice cream spot!  We are starting here at the local level but hope to participate in many more events in the future to raise awareness of PD, to support and improve patients quality of life, and to also raise funds to contribute to the ongoing groundbreaking research and finding a cure once and for all for PD ! 

For example:

"The revenues from our walk events are essential to assure we meet our Goal: “No person with Parkinson’s should be without responsive, quality care and support”. Michigan Parkinson Foundation’s (MPF) Respite Care Program increased 117% in 2021. Since January 2021, we have provided 10,185 hours of care to Michigan families who are living with Parkinson’s. Over 1,400 people with Parkinson’s have participated in MPF’s virtual exercise classes and we are excited to be able to extend the classes through December 2022 completely free of charge. To date, we have been able to say “YES” to all that need our help."
